Created by the same people who create BMWs, Mini first hit the North American market with a movie debuit in Austin Power's Goldmember and Subsequently in "The Italian Job". Seeing the versitalithy of this near perfect small car, the masses jumped to owning one. I recall that there was a long waiting list for anyone wanting to buy a Mini. Amazingly well put together, and very attractive looking, the Mini did for BMW what the Bug did for VW in its hay days. A good balance of old "English" (Although the makers are German) small car charm compounded by excellent engineering has made the Mini Cooper a winner in its small car segment of the market.
