Walking away from a dealership after having negotiated a deal is hardest thing to do for many people, as car sales people are trained to keep you enchanted and engaged at a dealership until you actually commit to buying a car. How can you find out if what the car sales person is saying true or just fluff talk? You can only do this when you have compared his pitch to other sales pitches. Also, many smart car sales people know when to give into a smart buyer? knowledge driven buy rather than loosing the customer to another who can sell the buyer. To locate these smart sales people its key to at least try negotiating with 3 dealership. I find it an excellent idea to talk to at least 3 dealerships, and then calling each of them the next day and telling them what you are willing to pay for the car. If your offer is reasonable, (and a little below what they settled for the day before) they are quick to close the deal with you over the phone.
